Blog Lurkers

Things at the new job have settled a bit. Definately not the horror of my first weekend...though I still have to contend with some fairly obnoxious folks. Tall, Dark and Loser being my least favorite dude right now. But losers will always be losers, I pity him more than I dislike him.

But the real point of my post...blog lurkers. You know who you are people. Those people who read your blog but never comment. What's the deal with that? I mean, if you're cruising by and checking out the material, don't you think you should leave a footprint? Not all the time, sure, but all of a sudden you're talking to some acquaintance and they reference your blog...weird.

My blogging was just interrupted by some working. It's totally thrown me off my stride though, I had a whole thing worked up about the lurkers but then a parent called with a complaint. le sigh, parents...so hard to satisfy, so convinced their child is superior, so willing to let their children bail on a commitment.

drifting off....

what a disappointing conclusion.

Well... you did ask for comments.

I'm sure Johner Ickson is a nice enough fellow, if you just gave him a chance. I mean, who doesn't like free Abercrombie & Fitch merchandice?

I do not dig Abercrombie & Fitch merch. They are unforgiving to the lady-assets, particularly those on top.

I want to know who these blog-rollers are. I feel that if we've put ourselves out there for the world to stalk, that surely they should buck up and make themselves known.

I'm afraid my comment pretty much rounds up your blog's total number of non-lurking readership. i know john erickson. i used to date him. he used to be a pathological lurker but your posts changed all that so be proud.

oh lady, blog-lurkers sadly come with the territory, it's sad but true.
Re: parents and their misconceptions about their children - preaching to the converted lady! Um, so your child hit another child in the head with a rock? Well, yes, I'm sure the other child did something to provoke your child, but don't you think their response was just a weensy bit over the line?
Just a snap shot from my life...my class, she is so full of violent children.

um, not sure what happened there, sorry - but atleast now it looks like you have even more traffic on your blog than before.

Some of us lurkers just like to feel the superiority in knowing more about you then you know about us.

Then again, you are posting your thoughts and comments on the internet. If there was ever a public forum where you would get friends, acquaintainces, strangers and freaks reading your writing, this is it.

Of course, most of us don't post because we are lazy. And alot of the blogs I lurk on don't allow anonymous comments. Since I am too lazy to create a profile, I don't post. It becomes a habit. You allow them, so what the heck.

see, I think that's the thing I don't like about lurkers. They actually do feel superior about knowing more about you than you know about them.

What's the deal with that? Because, it's there...this self-satisfied gleam in their eyes. It's like they feel like they're pulling a fast one on you...but really it's like they're pulling a slow one on you...

this lurker would like a post-turkey update.

There may be a second reason. Some people won't post because if you knew they were reading, it might change the content somehow. I mean, what if I want to know if you think I'm a complete jerk, but you are too milk-toast (haha) to tell me. This is the closest I will ever get to finding out!

I find it odd that timid is in the thesaurus under timid. Maybe I'm just really tired, but I'm fucking amused by this thesaurus experience.

Thank you "anonymous" for your actually honest reply.

I think the issue is that I would never talk about one of my friends on my blog. I only rant and rave about people who are vague acquaintances (sp?) that I really really don't like.

If I have a friend who's pissing me off I just say...hey you, Kirsten...stop trying to run away from me when I try and roll you into a ball, bitch. Or something like that.
